Forgive me if this has been covered already. I am looking for some suggestions.

I am asking for a fellow member who is out on the road on his way home. I think the truck is a 05 2500 4x4. Here is what he told me.

He started out on a road trip to FL from N. IL. by the time he made it to Indy he was using fuel big time (300 miles to a tank full). No power loss, miss, or excessive smoke. He checked the dipstick and the oil was high and smelled like diesel.

I do not think it is a stuck injector, due to no smoke, miss, or hydro-locked engine. I am thinking bad CP3 internal seal. But I am more of a first gen guy so I may be all wrong. Thanks for any help.

I talked to "not_agn" and yes there is a front seal on the CP3 that can fail and dump fuel in to the timing cover, thus into the crankcase.

I wonder if there is any damage to the lower bearings due to inseffecient lube for that period of time?

I didn't put a ton of miles on mine when I had an injector stick open, but it wasn't missing or running low on power, just pouring fuel on the ground from the blowby tube. Is he stock?

I drove about 30 miles, killed my HTBG, engine was fine and pushed me into 6 new injectors;) DCX wanted $900 + for 1 injector, so I popped for 6 80hp injectors for a few hundred more. The injectors were flawless, I put the quad race box on and around a month later my injector tip cracked and the thing stuck wide open. No pressure no mo.

wow, and he mentioned his turbo made some wierd sounds when this happened. I suspect new bearings are in order.

As far as pressure, he runs a ts ramifier/tst/bddl - So he has some high PSI I bet.

EZ on level 2 is enough for me and I think i'll keep it that way

Good to hear nothing bad hapend to the bottom end of the motor...

im curious to whos injectors they were that failed?

Tomegun- I think his turbo was on the way out before the fuel in the oil deal hit the fan. I know he put about 100 miles between when he first thought something was wrong and when he got to Indy. I am sure he is back by now, maybe he will post what he has found so far.

I haven't found anything yet. Just getting back into the swing of things, back to work, etc. I haven't really dug into it yet. I am looking at the injection pump, but need the gear puller to pull the gear off to get the pump out. That is were I am. Greg, I was actually on my way to Florida. I started noticing the fuel gauge dropping off around Danville, and by Indy I went through over half a tank. I actually ran out on the road, thats how fast it disappeared. When I got out I seen it all over the trailor. I plan on working on it some this weekend. Thanks for any help! Lee.
