Took my truck in for the Schedule "B" 60,000 mile service this AM. I told the dealer to do everything on the list, and he was trying to upsell me to a "Fuel Injection System Flush". He said the truck would run better after the procedure, and that they recommend that it be done every 30,000 miles. I haven't done this yet, told him to hold off for now. It is around $220. I can't find any mention of the procedure in the owners manual. Is this something that I should have done at my next service?

dont let um do it. just have them change the fuel filter. when you get it back run some good fuel additive and thats it. the less stuff that gets in the fuel system the better.

I agree with Robert, I work for a Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealership. You can service the fuel system well by installing the upgraded fuel filter part number 68001914ab and using a good fuel injector cleaner such as Howes meaner power kleener or Stanadyne Performance Formula.

hope this helps

445,000kms. never had the injectors out or flushed. use howes meaner and mmo. still original vp-44 . you dont need flush, change filter and add some addative of your choice.

IMO for less money you could get a 2 micron filter kit from glacier and probably do your fuel system more good.

I seem to remember a thread where someone had this done and it did damage. It may have been from some deposit knocked loose and plugging something.

I had one injector knocking, I put Lucus upper lubricant into the fuel filter, 1/2 full that cleaned it out.

Actually the injector doesn't knock itself, it is the timing of the burn, if an injector has dirt in it, it may not inject during all the pulses causing a knock sound
