My dealer says "flush your vehicle's diesel injection system every 18,000 to 24,000 miles for maximum power an efficiency" They say this will remove accumulated deposits from the entire fuel system and also they say heavy deposits will also be removed from the combustion chamber.

What do you all think about all this?

I don't own a 6. 7 and I'm not a dieselologist, but my question is this "service" in your Dodge Scheduled Maintenance guide? Or do they think it has spark plugs?

We call those wallet flushes. STAR is working on a cleaning process, but only for contaminated trucks. Should know more after the first of the year.

Yes I do like the name "wallet flushes". And you know the sad part of all this is that there are quite a few dealers that recommend this procedure.

I flush my injection pump and injectors with diesel fuel all the time. As a matter of fact, the entire fuel system is being flushed all the time that the engine is running.
