i found some bosch fuel injectors claiming they will give me 300hp with a bosch vp44 rotary fuel injection pump. i have an 01 4x4 ho 6spd with a 4in exhaust and k&n air filter. does anyone know if the vp44 is a stock pump or is that another upgrade? are these good injectors? will they slip my clutch? the seller recommended that i ask the TDR

The VP44 is the stock pump in your truck. Depending on what they are, they *COULD* give you 300hp, but not if they are a stock Bosch offering.

Cummins offered 275hp and 300hp versions of the 5. 9ISB engine, but just swapping injectors from one of those into your engine will NOT give you that power level. However, aftermarket injectors, like our Stage 2's would put you right in the 300rwhp range.

THANKS FOR THE FUEL PUMP INFO I HAVE DECIDED TO GO WITH AN EZ ALL TRICKS AND TIPS ARE WELCOME ON THE INSTALL OF THE EZ

It's a VERY simple install, the only tip I would offer is to use dielectric grease on the electrical connections. I have the same truck as you, when I borrowed an EZ to see if there was really any difference I was AMAZED at the gain in driveability- even without the wastegate boost orifice change. You'll love it.

the ez is stupid easy to hook up but I would make sure to have a fuel pressure guage to make sure your injection pump is getting enough fuel and isn't starving and heating up. Thats what happened to me the **** lift pump was out and the extra stress from the ez made my injection pump crap out. but once I got that all straightened out it ran like a banshee (now for my mach 2 edms)

after reading some other posts im hearing bad things about the ez mine is in the mail, just wondering why it is not a good upgrade along with my 4in exhaust and a k&n airfilter i have had my truck going on 4 yrs. i do moderate towing generally 10,000 lbs or more just looking for an edge (no pun intended) cannot afford a new clutch

I don't think the EZ is a BAD upgrade. I have had one on my truck for a little over 1 year. The real problem is the lift pump. Monitor your fuel pressure. I will say that an HO motor likes injectors much better than the box. The "question of the month" seems to be the increase in timing provided by the EZ. With the injectors, I put my jumper to position 3 (least amount of low boost increase. That combination really tamed the rattle at idle. With the increase in compression ratio provide with the HO option, cylinder pressures become the issue. However, there are people with highly BOMBed trucks running much higher pressures than I am with injectors and an EZ.
