Anyone comming to Tacoma on 02/02/02 from out of the area and not familiar with our local Flying-J might want to check their fuel guage before they head home.

Actually, some may want to stop on their way in. :D :D :D http://www.flyingj.com/

WA, Tacoma I-5 Exit 136 1. 119

I have no vested interest in Flying-J, just think they have pretty good fuel prices. :) :) :) :)

What??

I filled up there a little over a week ago and it was 103. 9!:( (Not including my . 01/gal RV Rewards discount... )

Thanks!

I'll check it before I fuel up. They still seem to have the best prices around and they move A LOT of fuel which is good! :D

Flying J = Ripoff in Pasco

Well maybe I'll fill up with Flying J fuel over there this weekend, but I'm not anxious to buy fuel from a company that jacks up their price where I live. I know I often post gripes about the Pasco Flying J, but at $1. 29 cash price Flying J is a full 10 to 15 cents higher than the going Credit price around here. I filled up at a Mom 'n Pop joint for $1. 09 last time. Many stations are $1. 14. I would love to buy Flying J but not at their rates.

Fuel

I can not find anywhere over here that can beat Flying-J at exit 136 on price, and they do pump a lot of fuel. If you go there look at the Texaco ripp-off on the corner of Pacific Hwy. They are usually 15-20 cents higher.

It was $1. 03 the last time I stoped there also, but the price seems to swing up and down. Check around at other places over here and I can almost guarantee they all are a lot higher.

Hey Tracy,

The Texaco is what I don't get. Here is this place right next door to Flying J and they are always at least 15 cents higher. The funny part is, everyone and their brother and their mothers have to drive passed this Texaco to get to Flying J. What is this Taxaco thinking about business? Someday I would sure like to meet the kind of idiot that stops that short half-a-block and settles on buying diesel there.

No doubt, Mike!!

I think the exact same thing every time I drive by that Texaco on my way to the J... . I've thought about going in there and asking them how much diesel they sell each day, but that would be too mean!:D :D

$1. 079 yesterday - 2/3/01 at Flying J in Fife.

On my way home Sunday I stopped at my favorite watering hole between home and the Seattle area and filled up for $1. 04

Anyone trekking down I90 to the east side should stop by Cle Elum for about the best price around. That is the cash price though, it is $1. 08 otherwise. They are off the exit at the east end of town, head toward downtown and it is about 2/3 mile from the exit on your right. Station is called Save $ Gas but the fuel is good.

That is my brother's favorite station when he's eastbound!

Me, I prefer Cenex Diesel fuel. Even though it's still $1. 169 (Auburn), it is Premium Diesel fuel and performs better than Flying J I've used. Additionally, I don't have to wait a year and a day to fill up (in the afternoons) like the Flying J in Fife.

You're right Mike! You'd have to be a total moron to purchase Diesel at Texaco for (usually) 20 cents minimum over any other place in the surrounding area! On top of that, since they don't turn very much Diesel, how fresh is it really?

The reason my brother was able to offer so much advice to me regarding Diesel fuel and where to purchase the best for the least, was because he used to own a Mercedes 240D..... that's 30 itty bitty horsepower (if memory serves).:eek: When you have next to nothing for power to start with, the quality and freshness of Diesel fuel plays a very significant performance role!

30 HP!!!! Heck, I think my starter has more HP than that!

$1. 07 as of yesterday. Filled both rigs up.

Hey John, I don't have to wait in line for those 'car' pumps... I have a different card so I can use the big rig pumps. No wait, but I don't get the RV discount at the big pumps.

What I love more is those baseball park burritos they have there. Yummy!

Hey Mike, I thought most (if not all) of the fuel sending unit problems were traced back to using the high flow big rig Diesel pumps.

Larry, I still wish my brother had that Mercedes 240D... I'd like to have it as a driver when I'm working on my Ram. Even with over 300k on the clock, that bad boy was rock solid!
