Freightliner FL50/60 fuel economy

BP paid the fine because it is their lease and their well.

The government is part of the reason why the spill lasted so long.

The current fuel sky rocketing has been caused by "Uncertainty in the middle East". No loss of supply, no burning oil fields, no blown up pipe lines or burning refineries, just uncertainty. bg

Government oversight of this industry is so over the top that drilling has stopped and we are paying over $4 a gallon for gas. The Government needs to get out of the way so we can drill safely and get off the middle east spigot. I''l bet they have some real government oversight to save the planet. The Saudi prince probably looks out his window every day and says yup I can see it, they are pumping, everything OK here. Man, I can't believe you think the Government needs to get more involved in this industry. The middle east will own us.

This is CORRECT!!!!!!Oo.

This is also why I am willing to dig deep into my pockets for expensive fuel. If the price of crude levels off then drops nothing will have been accomplished but brief panic and uncertainty.

I hope complete chaos takes place across the entire middle east and crude hits 200. 00 dollars per barrel, and 9. 00 per gallon gas, jet, and diesel. This is what it is going to take to sway the voting public to disband the EPA and the democratic commie liberal loons that are preventing us from achieving a sound energy policy.

Mac,

That's a pretty extreme solution but it would be worth it IF and that's a huge IF the American people could and would understand that it it the dumb, lying, and conniving dumocraps they vote for that causes the problems with fuel supply and prices not the oil companies making a legitimate profit.

That's a huge challenge. We have lots of TDR members right here who still listen to the propaganda media and come here and spout criticism of the oil companies after who knows how many times some of us have explained it to them.

The one thing we got going for us is the Saudi's don't have alot of the "sweet" crude left, they only have the lower quality stuff thats alot harder to refine, The middle east will run out of oil eventually, but It won't be in my lifetime... .

I'm on board with ya on this idea. Howeverer, I do believe that it's best to USE up other country's oil first.

Who knows, maybe the midddle east will be buying crude from us someday? :-laf

As I understand, we only get 2% of our crude from those countries. Most of the stuff we get comes from canada and Mexico. At least this is what I have been told. However, having said that, if EVERYONE in the US would NOT BUY ANY FUEL, for a two day period, I think it would certainly send a BIG message, and the price would come down!

It's more like 25% of our oil consumption comes from the middle east from what I have read.

EDIT: Just pulled the data, looks like it's still right around 26% as of December 2010.

Spam emails spouting something like this always crop up with the fuel prices. Not buying fuel for two days would do nothing, you still have to fill up eventually. The only way for the general public to have an infuence on price would be to create a reduction of consumption, thereby reducing demand. Oil companies could care less if you fill up with 20 gallons today, or 24 two days later (asuming you consume 2 gals a day).

I agree. A two day or a week delay to buy the same amount of more fuel would mean nothing to the oil industry.

Pull something with the HEMI and see what the MPG is. Dont know for sure but I dont think it will be the same as the CTD. Mac I thought I read somewhere you live in Yucipia (how ever you spell it ) hope your not filling at the ARCO on Yucipia and the 10 frwy that guy is a price gouger. On Redlands blvd and Tippecanoe the 76 is pretty coemptive and the Thrifty on Rosewood and Tippecanoe is cheap. PS didnt see you said Charger

Sharp ride congrats

I am a member of rzrforums.net also and gas/diesel prices are a big topic over there too. This is what one member posted. I am not sure where he got the info, but I found it interesting and figured I would see what everyone thought of it. Here is a link if anyone wants to read the whole thread: Polaris RZR Forum - RZR Forums.net

OIL - you better sit down.

Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and

one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to

ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil

does the U. S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more

than all the Middle East put together. " Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only

scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a

revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in

this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, andextreme eastern Montana ... ... check THIS out:

Bakken Oil Shale Map - North Dakota- Bakken Shale Formation

Bakken Shale Map - Maps of Bakken Shale Oil Formation Field

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe

Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign

oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion

barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel,

we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5. . 3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see

their jaws hit the floor They had no idea. . " says Terry Johnson, the Montana

Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found

in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a

formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the

'Bakken. ' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and

into Canada . . For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead

end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells

decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up

the Bakken's massive reserves... . and we now have access of up to 500

billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels

will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years

straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one

should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the

largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION

barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In

three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this

motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,

than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the

environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America

become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of

people dictate our lives and our economy..... WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in

this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION

barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in

the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think

again!

It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just

might be funding the environmentalists?

Nothing New!!!!

Marx... .

The baken field has been around a long time. Theres allot of reading on it. The calif coast has enough to supply the entire country for over 40 years. The west coast of Florida is another.
