Noticed when I was changing my oil there was a small amount of diesel fuel on the bottom of the cp3 pump. It doesn't leak enough to drip, but the lower section of the pump is wet. Truck is under warranty but don't want to pull the chip out and put the dpf back on if there is something easy I can check. Any idea's? I did check the lines on the pump they where tight.

some of the CP3's on the 5. 9's leak in the winter months only??? At least that is what a few have reported.

I would check the tightness of the gearcase pump, it is on the back of the CP3 and secured by 3 or 4 torx head screws. The seal between the two components is an o-ring type gasket, you will have to obtain proper torque specs, I do not remember what I set mine to. I believe it was inch pounds, you certainly do not want to twist one off, or strip one out.

The gearcase pump looks sort of like a "heat sink" device, on the firewall side of the CP3.

From my understanding, there is a profile seal between the cast and aluminum sides that shrinks during colder times of the year and can fail resulting in a leak. I have yet to try to tighten the torx screws but I would get the correct torque spec before attempting this.
