If you are facing the motor, fuel is leaking along the under-side of the common rail - I believe this is the common rail? I thought I had read several posts about this happening to others? Truck only has 6K miles on it and has had a dose of Stanadyne PF with every fill-up.

Is this a widespread problem? Is this something that can be caused by todays fuel? Sure glad I got an '05 which is the last year for the 7/100K factory warranty that covers the motor. Took the truck out to the dealer today, parked it right in front of the service bay door, filled out the night owl drop envelope and will call them 1st thing in the morning to ensure they get right on it.

Fortunately, we have another vehicle (my company car) that I will let the wife drive, while I fly out of town, but what a hassle, the wife has to get up early and take me to the airport and then drive up there to pick me up. You spend 37K on a new truck and it has problems, seriously thinking of getting rid of it and selling the RV.

Jeez, a little leak and you want to get rid of it? Good thing you didn't buy a Ford!

There have only been a couple people that I've seen have injector line leaks on the 3rd gens. They have either replaced injectors or run a pressure box.

Stock your fuel pressure gets to over 23,000psi. If you truly had a leak it would be a mess.

Let the dealer find the problem and don't sweat it. You have a 7/70 Powertrain warranty (trans, drive shaft and axle) and a 100k motor warranty.

These are great trucks, largely problem-free. But as with anything that's manufactured, some trucks will have an issue or two.

Dealer called, they are replacing the fuel rail or fuel assembly, I don't recall the exact verbage. Of course they don't stock it, so it should be at the dealership tomorrow.

I know these are great trucks, I have been a CTD owner since '97. I am just mad about the poor fuel economy the 3G 600's get, the questionable reliability (plastic inter-cooler failure, injectors/white smoke and now a leaking fuel assembly along with the high cost of diesel fuel and the added taxes the state of WA is putting on RV's and trucks, I am just about ready to tell the government with their never ending quest for higher & higher taxes and oil copmpanies gouging us, to stick it. They can find another sucker to pay.

I know it's frustrating. The EPA is the cause for poor fuel economy. Kill the 3rd injection event and increase timing and you'd have your power *and* fuel economy.

Good thing the dealer's taking care of you.
