Ok correct me if I'm wrong but the two lines that run up the firewall at the back of the motor are supply and return correct?

I thought I had a hole rubbed in what I thought was my metal fuel return line. However, after diving into the project it appears to be the supply line instead. Seems that the return line is a lot longer piece of hose than I though and it ends right at the end of the injection pump and turns to metal.

The other line goes directly into the top of the fuel heater which leads me to believe that is it a supply line. Where the supply line goes from metal to rubber at the firewall its very damp on that end of the hose, appears to be leaking fuel as I checked all of my metal lines and they don't have any holes in them.

Probably a dumb question but is this common, just like the return line dry rotting and causeing hard starting?

Took a break for a rant! :-{}

From the factory that supply line comes with one adjustable hose clamp on the upper metal end behind the fuel filter canister, and on the other end a crimped on hose clamp! #@$%!

I don't know how long it would have taken me trying get a pair of side cutters down in there to cut that thing if an old TDR member hadn't returned my phone call for something else. Daniel Hall "CMNS PWR" called and I told him why I called and explained what I was doing and he suggested first a hacksaw blade down below the clamp and cut the medal line..... "uh daniel... I'm barely reaching the clamp" :rolleyes: ..... "oh well why don't you just slide a long flathead screwdriver down in there and pry it off"... ... Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. That worked!!

Now to back and finish the job! :D

Well, here is the tough part. I replace all of my hoses while I had my head off about two years ago. TDR advised me that was a good time to do that.

I checked all over to find the best hoses I could. I could not find anything special. As a result, I think what I replaced was probably better than what I put on. I read about special hoses for diesel fuel, could not find anything.

Two years after replacing the hoses, I would occasionally smell diesel fuel, lost about 1 MPG, and get what appeared to be oil on the back of my camper. Close investigation reveled a pinhole spraying a fine mist of diesel. I cut off about one inch of line. That removed the pin hole. Looking closer at the hose, you could see hairline cracks. After I cleaned the hose, with truck running, you can see seeping all over the hose. Only two years old.

Where do you get a quality hose? The hose looked as though it was exposed to the sun. Not falure not due to the fuel.

best access to rubber fuel lines on '95?

JoeG. says tilt master cylinder over and remove fuel filter. Does removing left wheel and inner fender rock shield give any advantages? Also does marine grade line mean its ok for diesel? Local boat shops as others noted before have it for something around $1 ft. I am getting ready to replace these lines today, I hope, especially if I get a reply soon. thks.
