Serviced the truck Saturday ( oil, fuel, grease ), relocated the breather bottle, noticed Sunday she's leaking a little diesel. Double checked the fuel filter cap; snug tight could not locate the source. Cleaned drivers side of block etc. and drove it today ( block was a little moist behind and below P/S pump, but bottom of fuel filter and the infamous lift pump assembly was saturated with fuel. Cleaned it again and i think I've narrowed it down to the line coming out of the fuel fiter: looks like two seals along with the bolt and tube.

#1 can I snug up the bolt ( looks like a 15mm ) to stop the leak, or

#2 do I need to replace the seals ?

#3 noticed a little leakage where the P/S pump and Vacuum pump meet. Do i need to worry about it also ?

P. S. No codes

The p/s & vacuum pump leak has been an issue on these trucks. There is a kit available to repair vacuum pump. I beleve there is an add in the latest TDR mag. If the banjo fittings are leaking, I'd replace the seal washers before I'd over tighten the bolt.

OK thanks Jim, guess I'll go by the parts store. Anybody know the torque specs for the bottom banjo fitting? THANKS!!!

Ok, now i think it's coming from the side or bottom of the injector pump.

The whole drivers side of the block is wet with fuel and you can smell it from the left front wheel.

Please don't tell me I need to replace the pump. I can't afford until next month.

Any tips?????

Tightened 2 of the fuel lines coming out of the back of the injection pump, but still not sure if that was the whole problem. I can't see exactly where it's leaking. Seems to be leaking from the support bracket that holds the inj. pump (because thats the highest point i can see that has a drop of fuel hanging)

Anyone know a good shop in middle TN (I'm 30 miles west of Nashville).

Looks like I'll have to replace the VP, and might as well do a FASS also.
