well i found i have a fuel leak it looks to be a little pinhole in the line that hugs the block and squirts out in tune to the engine so my suspision is its after the lift pump its real close to the fliter but i can't tell whether its going to or coming from the filter. i assume i can pick up some plain old fuel hose at kragen or autozone thats the right size and replace it or is there anything special. the guy i bought the truck from has owned from three year and replaced the fuel lines at some point its wrote down in his log so i don't know how long that was unless i go get it from the truck which ill do later. my guess is tho that in 3 years it doesn't need new ones and that this is just a odd ball one. any help will be appreciated

I have the same truck and just recently replaced just about everything from the hard fuel lines under the cab forward. Those black rubber fuel lines can be bought at any automotive parts store. However, they are a pain in the but to access and change. The one close to the block is probably the fuel return line. What I did to access mine easier is right above the transmission both fuel lines are in a harness they can be slide out of. The hard metal tube the black hose is attached to isn't very long. It goes into a felxible stainless piece after only a few inches.

Gotta go

I'll write more later.

Sounds like you have a hole in the return fuel line. My dad and I both have 95 dodges and I have replaced this line on both trucks at least 3 times. Do not use regular fuel line as the diesel eats it up quicker then fuel line designed for diesel fuel. It is hard to change because the clamps are hard to access.

ok maybe i have just been misinformed but i always thought that diesel was fine w/ most all fuel lines and it was gas that ate them up maybe im wrong idk but i will ask for a diesel line.

another question how long is this line and whats the dia for it?

If you are concerned with the diesel eating it I would actually get some marine grade fuel line from a boat store. It has to pass a higher coastguard standard. Should be able to find it at any marine parts store. If there are none in your area try Rip at sourceautomotive. biz He sells a kit for both of those lines. The marine grade stuff has a thicker wall as well and might need bigger clamps. Good luck.

well i think i will go w/ the reg lines and order the marine line later when i have lots more money and time right now tho this truck is my only ride and even tho the boss is paying for fuel i don't like having fuel leaking all over my truck. thanks tho for the info i will get some marine lines later on. right now tho i really just need to know what diamiter i need and how long it is.

way off topic but i asked this ? on a different post and have not recived a reply but i want a tdr window sticker and need to know how to go about ordering one since i can't seem to find it anywhere.

that hose is very easy to change i changed my friends and mine in the same week it should only take like 30min to change. remove the fuel filter then climb up and sit on valve cover and fish your hand in there its a 6mm or 8mm nut. the hardest part is trying to hold the clamps in place with the same hand you have the ratchet in without it moving

When I replaced the stock fuel lines I used regular fuel hose. The clerk said there was no difference. The regular fuel hose didn't last very long at all. I replace that junk with hoses from: http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm

They have been on there a long time now with no problems.

thanks for the website im going to be ordering the super contacts too but for right now i need to stop the leak so i will put some fuel hose on there untill i can order these and get them in
