Hey guys

I have recently started smelling fuel really bad while driving my truck. At first I thought my frame mounted pump and return line right under the driver door It has leaked there before but this time it is not there. It looks like it is the return line right up next to the filter. Anyone else had this problem? If so where can i pick up a line short of giving a kidney for it at the dealer? Thanks Adam

Alright after further inspection I don't think its the return line. It is coming from higher on the motor. From where I can see it drip it looks like it would have to be from line 5 or 6 but I can't see it drip from the lines I can see it dripping off the rear side of the head down on and around where the return line tees. Speaking of which what does the line go into the back of the head for? Any Ideas? Thanks

At first thats what I thought also. I have the walbro pump and the pop off valve on the frame, but this is up by the motor right in behind the filter. I can see fuel dripping off the head down onto the return line. Just haven't figured out where it is coming from yet.

Ok after more checking the drip I am seeing on the drivers side rear of the motor does not seem to be fuel or at least it doesn't smell like fuel. It is bright green I was thinking anti freeze but mine is more of a yellow color. It does how ever look like it could possibly be coming from a freeze plug right in that area. That still does not explain why my truck smell like fuel so bad. Any ideas? Thanks

There is a fuel banjo bolt at the rear of the head in the center just below the valve cover. It attaches the fuel line for the manifold drain passage. It is very hard to see but if you reach around from the passenger side you can feel it and get a wrench on it. It has two gaskets much like the ones on the lift pump. That could be the source of your fuel smell.

Ok it is not fuel it is antifreeze. There is an electrical connector screwed into the head. It has 2 wires. It is between the 3 wire connector that my fuel box plug ties into and the freeze plug near the end of the head. What is this connector. I am guessing this is for the water temp gauge in the dash? Can anyone tell me for sure what it is? Thanks
