I ran the truck very hard today. The hardest that I have ever ran it! It ran @ 95mph, 2700rpm for about 45min. I started smelling #2(diesel) and pulled over. It looks like the leak is near the block behind but not on the fuel filter. I changed the filter about 750 miles ago. Any reply would be helpfull!

BTW- the truck still runs and drives. But leaks fuel.

I would check the fuel lines. The lines have been discussed several times and a search on the subject will provide plenty of info. The year of your truck is about right for this to happen if you haven't already replaced them. It will most likely be the rubber return line.

When the return line on my 3500 decided to leak it did it all the sudden in a big way also. I was in the middle of nowhere and went though a full tank of fuel in less than a 100 miles. Luckily came across a farmer working his field with a fuel tank on his PU, got enough diesel to get to the closest auto parts and did the repair in their parking lot.

The return line went on mine at about 65k. It's kind of hard to get to, being under the intake manifold and behind the fuel filter but it can be done without too much trouble. If it is the return line, you should also have to crank the truck over longer than normal to get it to start.
