2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Fuel leaking AGAIN

A while ago I had a fuel leak from the sending module I replaced it now about 1 year later another leak I think its from the steel part of the line beside the tank now... . I was just going to replace the steels with rubber lines... . however Im a little worried about when its cold and the fuel starts to thicken... . the rubber lines may collapes..... any advise? also I would be using Gates number 27004 3/8 hose which says its ok for diesel and has 24 in vacuum rating... any input on that?.....

The fuel feed and return lines are not under extreme pressure (less than 10 psi I would think), so using good quality, diesel rated rubber hoses should not be an issue from that perspective alone. I recently replaced both my fuel lines and was on a course like yours, however a post here turned me towards using quality stainless steel tubing. The OEM manufacturers use rigid lines for fuel (except in areas where flex may be an issue) to add a degree of protection from road debris or other abraision puncture. From a functionality standpoint, I think you can go either way. The safety issue steered me towards using rigid lines, and the rust issue with conventional galvanized steel tubing turned me to stainless steel.

I ended up droping the tank and replacing the 3/8 hose..... it was rotted right at the bend toward the tank..... I'll probably kick myself in the arse for not doing the return line also but it wasnt bad... ... I dont know how this is but my fuel pressure increased by 5lbs... . wasnt to bad a job I used a trans jack was pretty simple... .
