Has anyone heard of this one.

I took my truck into the dealer because it did not want to start. They called today. According to them it is a leak in the fuel line somewhere between the fuel tank and the motor. I have to replace the fuel bundle?????????

Any one heard of this before.

Oh of course my truck has 37,000 miles on it so it is out of warranty

I would not let them touch it.

I do not know what a fuel bundle is, but I would veture to guess that the stealer is fixing to rake you over the coals. Take it anywhere besides the dealer to get it fixed. If your dealer is like 99. 9% of them, they are getting ready to make some big bucks off of you, since your warranty just ended.

If it will not start the first thing I would check is the fuel level. I know it sounds too simple, but it happens all the time. The fuel level sending unit sticks or breaks and it shows fuel when there is none. I have seen it several times.

I just hate to see someone get bet over by their friendly dodge dealer.

Fuel pressure is OK after it starts and the truck runs fine after it starts. They have quoted me $331. 00 to fix it and I have asked for the old fuel line.

Stop... you have options...

For about $450 you could buy a Stainless Steel hose kit and replace the stock system from tank to injection pump. This includes two new pumps (one pusher and on high press lift pump). This is a sweet deal with the two pumps and would make your fuel system bullet proof.

Here you can buy all sorts of fuel system replacments and enhancments. It looks like they want about $165 to replace the whole fuel feed line from tank to injector pump with -6an lines.

For about $100 (probaby less) you could replace the stock line with black rubber hose and hose barbs. If you do a search here you can find guys with all the part #'s you need.

If you are nervous about doing these upgrades find a local chapter or at the very least buy a kit and have it installed at a garage of your choice.

Please consider these an option as you are about to get buggered by the dealer.

On one other note, if I where to guess where it would leak first I would say the little line that goes between the lift pump and the fuel filter. That hokey little hose needs to be replaced anyway.
