I am having fuel leakage on the injector lines on the injector end of them. Not real serious but enough to bother me. Anyone know the proper torque and any good tips on how to tighten them properly?

Ok. I don't know if I have EVER had a problem with ANY 12 valve injector lines leaking. The ISB lines will leak habitually there ( at the injector connector) It's quite a battle.

I'd loosen up all your hold downs and then loosen up all the lines at the nozzels. Then snug down the nut and tighten all the hold downs again.

You don't have to use a pipe on the end of the wrench either. Snug is good. If you have a torque wrench with the adapter and proper wrech to attach it to, knock your self out. I have no idea what the specs are.

thanks dude. I am going to grab some starting fluid and warm my truck up. Than I will try to get the fuel leaks sorted out. It is 4 degrees here and yesterday a contractor working on our garage borrowed my extension cord and than dropped a scaffold on it and cut right through so we will see if the beast starts. I have never started it this cold yet so it will be a test for my trip to Saskatchewan for christmas.

The way I was taught is to loosen then tighten each one while the engine is running... that way if there is a spec of dirt causing the leak, it will get flushed away.

Good luck.

Be advised that if you use this method, the engine will shudder once the line is loosened... . sort of like pulling a plug wire off on a gas engine.

Good luck.

edit... damn damn double double post post

The tips can get corrosion on them. Use about 320 or 400 grit paper in a circular motion and be careful to flush off all grit before reinstalling. Around 20-25 ft lb is enough.
