2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission fuel line pick-up photos

Would anyone happen to have pics of their mods the fuel pick-up in the tank. I installed a FASS system on a buddy's truck, and it is making noise, so I think I am going to have to go ahead and increase the pick-up size. Thanks, Nicholas

NCovey while I don't have any pics I can assure you the pickup especially on the '99 and older trucks is pretty pathetic!! Fuel is sucked through a 1/4" ID passage. Measured it myself.



On my '01 I got rid of the check valve thingy and prefilter screen, installed a piece of 1/2" ID flexible poly tubing with a 1/2" to 3/4" copper plumbing flare at the end to press against the tank bottom. . . I put six 1/4" notches around the perimiter to draw fuel through. I added a bulkhead mount to the pickup assembly lid and ran the plumbing from there. Worked great, no fuel pressure issues even 4-wheeling on a very low tank.



I am planning to BOMB the fuel pickup on my '96 about the same way.

You can look at my custom fuel module in my reader's rigs. I went a little overboard. A simple standpipe is all that is needed. The "hot fuel" bucket DC built is really a mess. You could start by removing the Float deal in the bottom of the bucket and junking thescreen etc. Just make sure you leave the module in the full downward position. I would also move the return line out of the bucket. There is a member here that sells real nice machined bushings that fit the top of the stock module for a nice fix. FWIW My module works great but The OEM gasket did not seal at all so I had to use Black RTV. Used "Great Stuff"
