I have a 2002 4x4 quad cab with a 4" Magnaflow exhaust I am interested in the "Blue Chip FMS" (fuel managment system) to boost horsepower and increase mileage... I have not found much info except from Blue Chip..... Has anyone used the FMS??? How well did it work??? Is there anything else that my truck will need besides the exhaust????

Thx,

Martin

doesn't seem like much of an emergency to me... might want to get this moved to products/accessories or 24V engine/transmission...

lots of stuff on the FMS if you search the threads...

most people (not me) have gone with the Edge Comp because of the difference in price...

Got one ... Love it! Adjustability sold me on it back in the day. Go for the premim if you have the means to up front you will be glad you did.

:Edit:

A clutch will come in handy when running it hard on fuel :-laf To get the box's full benifits larger injectors should be installed but then a larger turbo should be taken into account for increased exhaust temps.

toolman,

thx for the reply..... what do you mean by "premium" i was under the impression that they only make 1 FMS??... ... i also saw a redline box for off road use only... ... what type/brand clutch do you suggest??

The "Redline" Box is full Offroad Nuclear Warfare only!!! It sets the redline to 4000 rpm and is brutal to the VP-44. TTMT meant by "Premium" is the Bluechip is a few $$$. 00 more then an Edge Drag-Comp. Hope this Helps; Moose00.

Oooh yeah sory about that Yep PD got it. There was teh standard unit that was upgradeable to a premium. Yes teh standard went up to 30% over on fuel The premium can go to 63% over on fueling. I dunno honestly. Most H. O guys go with a Con OFE clutch but I am a QuickShifter kinda guy so rowboats are out of my league :-laf It all depends on what power level you WANT to achieve and match a clutch to handle that and your driving style. Most go to the higher end of clutches in anticipation of future engine enhancement.

Have one also, love it. Stock clutch, injectors, turbo, exhaust. Soon to change if I can stop spending money on my other toys!

I can get high temps bookin' up 6-8% grades here at 6500-8000' elevation empty, but regular driving with the box on 63% it rarely gets above 1100 degrees. Love the guages too, records highest EGT, RPM, and boost. Boost and EGT are readable as graphs or numbers in different resolutions.

And Chip and the Blue Chip crew have outstanding customer service.

P. S. -Buy a used one if you can, bought mine for $650
