At 2000rpm it was running 70 mph.

2000 rpm's is 72 mph in my truck. I usually run about 67 mph.

I just paid attention to this this weekend and noticed that at 2000 rpms I'm at 66 mph in 5th gear. The invoice says I have 3. 73 gears. I wonder how much the 5. 63 vs. the 5. 61 of the 6 speed makes a difference?

I recently returned from a 5750 mile "test ride" thoughj texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc where speed limits were 75, and most were doing 80+. Best millage 18. 3 worst 16. 2, averaged 17. 53 for total trip, which included some city, stop and go site seeing miles. all computed manually fill to fill. trip computer off by a little on each fill up, but at end of trip it showed 17. 5 MPG average, not to bad.

We're feeling better today--filled tank and got 19. 6 mpg--just over 1000 miles on truck. This tank was solo, about 2/3 freeway at 58 to 68 mph, and the rest around town. This is actual, figured with a calculator milage. The trip meter showed 19. 1 so it is closer than we thought at first. Thanks to all for posting your milages--we had hopes it would improve!
