Has anyone noticed an improvement in fuel mileage when switching from setting 3 to setting 2 on the Edge EZ? I'm not interested in what the overhead readout is telling you, I'm interested in what numbers are when measuring how much fuel is put in the tank. Thanks.

I have been running an EZ at the settings it came set at and the mileage isn't any better than stock. Maybe a little worse. I have only had it a couple months and I am getting 16-17 on highway with no load. It does have more power. I was getting 17-18 before the EZ. I don't think this is what you are asking but I thought I would voice my opinion. I don't think I will see the improvements some are claiming.

I switched mine just to satisfy my curiosity. If there was an improvement in MPG it was too small to accurately calculate. My problem is keeping my foot out of it. As fore mileage, I'm seeing 21-22 easily with the cruise set at 60-65. Towing 8000# Fifth wheel around 15-17 (Highway).

I put mine on three months ago. I have not done a real mileage check yet, but going by how many miles the truck would go per 1/4 tank increments, the truck seems to be doing a bit better. The problem is, the low end roll on torque increase with the EZ is way to much fun and I find my self regressing back to my hot rod days.

I just came back form a 600 mile round trip. With the EZ on the #3 slot, the cruise set on 65-68, I got 23. 3 This is the best mileage I have ever gotten with the truck. Previous best was 21. 6. On the return trip, I bumped the cruise up to 70-73 and got 22. 2 on the way home. It seems the best mileage was around 1900 rpm, and thats with 3. 5 gears. Now this is not the average of the truck per say every day. Every day driving average is 19, and thats if I can keep my foot out of it, which generally doesn't happen.

While pulling trailers I got a increase. But empty I lost mileage. My right foot got heavier and quicker. I went to #2 setting I did help. Then I put in 275's and put EZ on low. If I drive like grandma I get very good, But since that is illegal. I know the power is there and I like to use it, like to see black smoke between shifts. To best mpg was driving 125 miles on icey roads. It got over 20, but that is the only time I can drive slow. personally if you can control your right foot you should have a increase. If you don't it is operator error. At least in my case. We tend to have too much fun driving our diesels.

I ran my ez on the stock setting for about six months and noticed a decreae in mileage. I then switched it to the middle setting and got my mileage back and then some. I figured that on most aggressive setting it adds fuel at 3psi so I was wasting fuel (ie smoke) just driving around town in stop and go traffic (dont race and drive reasonable) so switched it to middle setting which adds fuel at 10psi. Yes it lost a bit of snap on takeoff but it only takes an extra second to get the boost up to 10psi before the fuel kicks in. I also do a lot of highway driving and my truck is always above 3psi on the highway and usually over 10psi unless going down the mountains.

I played with an EZ on all three settings over 10,000 miles. Saw no real difference in mileage between the three, just a difference in smoke. I think your foot, and how you drive it, is the determining factor.

Thanks for all of the replies. I've had the EZ for about two years now and I've always had it on setting 3. I was up at Bristol for the race weekend, which is about 505 miles each way. I changed the setting to 2 after I got up there. On the way home I ran 70-75 mph, alot of it small rolling hills on I-26. For small periods of time I ran 80. When I filled the tank my mileage figured out to 17. 66 mpg, figured on 511. 6 miles and filling with 28. 96 gallons of #2. I'm running 4. 11 in the rearend. I've never done that well at those speeds. I'll make further judgement after a few tankfuls of fuel running under normal-go-to-work-everyday conditions.
