I bought my 93 ext cab truck with the CTD for several reasons. Power, sound, longevity, and mileage. I knew diesels got better mileage than gassers but I had no idea my D250 would pass 24 MPG! :D

I drove it easy with no load just to see what I could get. I put my foot in it occasionally but not much.

Boy am I likin' this! Cummins torque, great mileage, great sound. I can't wait to mod this thing! Oo.

I am glad to here you guys get such great fuel mileage. My truck on the other hand gets terrible mileage. Since I have modded it I just can't keep my foot out of it. It is too much fun!

Terrible as in what? I would have been happy with 19-20 mpg in a truck this size. What do you get?

If I drove my truck lightfooted I would probably get somewhere close to 20mpg. I went on a trip two weeks ago all interstate and got close to 20mpg. I drive a company powerjoke during the week so on the weekends I tend to hot rod in my Dodge a little.

yep,,,,,,sure liken mpg of the 1g. 19 to 24mpg in my 92 dually with almost 600,000 miles. my 89 was bttr tho,,,,,,,,,,,,,24 was normal on the hwy empty but possible to reach 27mpg if i kept speed reasonable

hey muddy, how was the drive home? i'm interested in how those adjustments effected milage.

the only time i've gone through the trouble of checking my milage was before i did most of my mods. think i had a slightly tweaked pump, 12cm housing, an maybe the 4". going by the milage on road signs (no odometer) i figured i was getting somewhere around 26 mpg. that's WITH some room for error. i was pretty impressed.

I have 2 1993 2wd dualies. One has 190 injectors and a 16cm housing. I advanced the pump timing and cranked up the fuel to max. it gets 13 mpg with an auto trans. It is a real hot rod. It really screams on take off!

My second 93 has 190 injectors and 16cm housing but I left the pump alone. It get 21. 5 mpg with a getrag 5spd. Holding 2000 rpm on highway. It runs good not so fast on take off but really flys trying to pass on the highway. It seems as though the power band is in a higher rpm range than my other 93. not sure why.
