Fuel Mileage

Ok, so I just went 490 Km on 75. 8 L of diesel. That would be 490 divided by 75. 8 = 6. 4 Km per L of diesel. Does that sound about right. This is all city driving empty. For you all down south that is about 17 miles per American gallon.

If my math is correct.....



75. 8 liters = 20. 02 US Gallons

490Km = 304. 47 miles



so..... I get 15. 2 miles per gallon. Seems low with no load.





I usually get about 17(+/-) mpg around town lightly loaded



Have you had your speedo checked? Mine was off by 5mph off the lot. when I went to 33" tires it brought it to the correct ratio.

Hey Rick,

As I mentioned to you awhile back, with tweaks and pump timing turned to 1. 4-1. 5 will help your mileage. That old gal is alittle weak right now. You are having to put your right foot in it to make up for the sluggish power. Also remember the cold weather isn't helping things right now.

Some tweaks and things will be looking up.

Ya, it does seem a little low. Today when I got fuel I put in a full bottle of Stanadyne to see if this will help. Might clean things up a bit.

I went to NW Fuel Injection today. They had nothing but good things to say about Piers. Paid $10. 50 Canadian for a bottle. They told me that they did all the rebuilt pump's for most of the shops around Vancouver including Piers.

So it looks like we will have to do some tweaks come the new year, eh Mark.

Don't forget we're all running winter fuel now too... it hurts mileage a bit. In my case I see a drop of about 1 - 1. 5 mpg with winter fuel. Idle is not as good and it's also a tad lower.

My usual mileage is about 18. 7 mpg US.

As for the guys at NW, they're good people. My brother and I have gone in there a few times ourselves and been treated real well.

They installed my 185's when I got them. Every time my brother or I go in now, they just cover their eyes and shake their heads... . " Now what are you fiddling with?... . " is usual question. BTW, did you see the pic on the wall to the left of the front counter???... that's my brother's 92.
