Hey guys,

I have a new idea for a minor project I'm going to start this winter. I want to BOMB out a 12 valver for MAX fuel efficiency and durability. I'm just scouting out a 12 valver from ebay with a 5 gear and SLT 4x4. I'm considering rebuilding and balancing the engine, using racing pistons and port and polish the head. Stock valve train and cam (I think), and use all high quality parts. Should I simply use stock everything else (injectors, torbo, etc. ). Are there any other injectors that are more efficient, or a fuel plate used more for a lower powered engine? I may put on a high efficency intercooler or at least an elbow to streamline things.

This is going to be a semi-daily driver for me. I'll have a high HP truck for fun, and this one will be the one I'll keep until I'm 60 and then pass it onto my son (hopefully it will be the equivalent of a hemi cuda by then!!!). I want to get 30 MPG (Canadian) on this and have it last 1,000,000 miles. I'm actually looking to this project, it seems to be a sign of the times - more efficient instead of more power (excpet on these forums).

I just want to pick everyone's brain out there on any tips you could give me on this. Does anyone have sone info on alternate injectors, camshafts, or any other parts that would help me achieve my high-effiency goal? Lets get a discussion rolling on a different type of subject.

Andy
