Has anyone ever experienced a problem with fuel coming out of tank after a fill-up ? I made my first trip to Wyoming to the big horn mountains and when I stopped in Sheradon to fill up after topping off tank and going in to pay bill I came out to find a large puddle of fuel under truck. fuel was leaking on top of tank around sending unit. after a few minutes it stopped leaking. I did notice there was a lot of foam when I filled up . I checked the oil and the oil appeared to be over filled also. I did not have any other problems while up on the mountain. When I filled up on the way home I was still in Wyoming and the fuel spill/problem happened again. I had no more problems on trip. I have never had this happen before or since . I suspect it is atmosheric pressure.

overflow valve

I had the problem when I first got my truck. Here's what the factory rep said. "When filling the tank do not attempt to "top it off" more than three or four times as the bubbles settle. The column of fuel in the fill tube may activate the overflow valve and fuel will leak on the ground. " I have followed his advice for several years now and no more problems. Regards, Lynn
