If your talking about the tip of the timing pin that locates TDC on the gear, it shouldn't be any problem as they are plastic. If you want to remove it, you should be able to remove the entire pin from the bore by pulling on it. Rotate the engine over to expose the tab (if it's still there). Heat a sheet metal screw with a torch. Insert the screw into the broken tip and pull it out. Mine was sheared off already when I timed it.
Edit: If you mean the locking pin that is actually inside of the P-pump then disregard the above.
