I did some experimentation with my stock fuel plate a while back ago and would like to try again, I loved the extra power but my fuel economy went from good (16-18 mpg) to :{ 12 mpg about. My driving did not change a whole lot. I don't have a lead foot at all, i just like a good, stiff acceleration... .
Anyways, I achieved this by moving the stock fuel plate all the foreword, and I have the star wheel all the way foreward also. My first question is, what is the equivalent fuel plat number of moving the stock fuel plate all the way forward. Now on for the next, if I ground the stock fuel plate down, how far do i need to go "if its even possible" to hit an equvalent #10 or #11 fuel plate, and than would I put the plate back in the stock possition or move it foreward. and yet another question is this, I straight piped the truck a while back and my fuel economy acctually went down, is this normal. I used the same size pipe as the existing factory pipe before the kitty, i think it was 3 1/4". I have an amsoil air fillter and a swissed cheesed air box. Presently I have a fairly good muffler on it, but I am going to get a good flow through before i mess with too much fuel.
