Fuel Pre-heater Wires.

HELP! The two wires that connect to the connector feeding the fuel pre-heater became disconnected. I notice that one wire is heavier (fatter) than the other. Does it matter which wire feeds which part (upper or lower) of the heater? I know it's wired in series but I want to connect them back right so I don't burn it up. Help is appreciated! (FYI- From day one, there never was a proper two sided connector housing. Just half encasing the two male ends on heater side. ) THANKS!
