I noticed last week that My fuel pressure had dropped from 13 to 11. 5 to 12 at idle I changed the fuel filter (had 3000 miles on the last one) made no difference fuel pressure dropped to 5. 5 at WOT. 28,000 miles and truck is stock. When should I take it back to DC for a lift pump?

Mine was lower than that and they said it was fine. I could drop it to 1 PSI WOT and it idled at 9 PSI. I just went and ordered 1 and put it in myself. Good luck getting it changed.

I had mine replaced when I could no longer keep 5 PSI on the gauge. I have heard that DC has changed the requirements for changing the pumps.

IMHO: you should replace it ASAP. I ran into a situation in Death Valley (temp 110 degrees) where my truck idle was really erratic. The only thing I could associate the problem with was not enough cooling for my VP44. Shortly after having the idle problem I put a FP sensor in and found my pressures low out of spec (old spec was min of 10 PSI). Since I got a new Xfer pump I have not had a problem. The pump was replaced at 11K miles and I now have 78K miles. Seems to have been the fix for the idle problem in high temperatures. Sorry to be long winded.
