Yep, The instructions say not to use teflon tape on fuel sender treads. I know that it's npt threads, but won't this leak? What if I use gas resistant pipe dope? Same thing? I'm assuming this has something to do w/ the conductivity of teflon?

TIA

Tom:confused:

I just finished my pressure gauge/sender installation last weekend and I did not use any tape or anything else. I just mearly tightened it snuggly and so far no leaks at all.

Doug!

When did you sneak the DDI's in on me???? Did you buy a used set or a brand new set? Did Chris upgrade his and sell you the old ones? Did you put them in??? You should have bought Mark's DDIII's :D

Never saw that coming... ... now ya gotta watch your clutch! Hehehe :D Are you secretly becoming a bombaholic?????

Doug, Well I did use pipe dope, but kept it well back from the male ends of the fittings. Just for insurance. Did you locate your sender on the pump or remotely somewhere else. I located mine up near the drivers side firewall on a little bracket that I fabricated. Thanks for the input.

It's better not to use Teflon tape because it can effect the ground to your sender, I always use an antiseize that contains metal. Another problem with Teflon is that if you ever have to replace anything that it has been used on it's near impossible to remove all the old tape. A little scrap of Teflon sure would do a good job plugging up an injector.

Hey Bill, Good to hear from you again. Hope the move went as well as moves can go.

I figured that there was a continuity problem there. The sender has a separate ground post so no problem there. Like I stated above, I made sure that the pipe dope could not get into the line. It's working fine. Readings are sort of middlin' as far as pressures go. At least I can tell when it's too low. 2 psi is the lowest at WOT. Not great, but it does have a few mods on it. Banjo bolts are next.

Take care.

Kat, I was updating my signature and I thought I would add the DD1's as I will hopefully get them installed this weekend June 16. I bought them new from Diesel Dynamics with the TDR discount. The reason I did not go higher then the DD1's is for a couple of reasons 1)I know a friend with an ETH the tows his D90 that weighs about the same as my trailer and he says he has a EGT's problem even after he installed an HX40 turbo which I don't want to do as I will loose my exhaust brake which I must have:) , 2) is the reason you just noted I hope the DD1's combined with the EZ will not over power my clutch and if it does l will probably get a Sach's clutch. I am just tring to catch up with you Kat actually I just want to be around the 310 to 335 HP range which I think I will be very close. So that leaves out Mark's old DD3's beside that I know will kill my clutch in a hurry , but at least on the bright side my truck will pull much better :D.

Hey Kat check your e-mail.
