Alright I finally got my gauge hooked up and it reads 9psi at Idle and 5psi at 3200rpm sitting in the driveway with no load on it. I didn't have the right fitting to run it into the cab so I can't road test until tommorow after work. Is this normal on a stock truck? Thanks

It's a little low...

I've got 30K on my truck and I'm seeing 14-15 at idle, 12-13 at cruise on the hwy (60-70MPH), and 6-7 WOT (under full load on the road).

And my readings are lower than some.

I'd say little low also, I see 17-18 idle. Of corse when my lift pump died it was -2 psi, so injector pump was doing the sucking. Hope vp not too hurt!!

Well I was waiting for the gauge to move my LP closer to the tank. I guess now I'll just buy a new pump. Any opinions on the Carter from summitracing? I'm thinking that with some 1/2" line and max flow fittings should do it.

I don't know what it should be but mine idles at 11-12 PSI runs down the highway at 7-8 and WOT under load it can be pulled down to 2PSI momentarily. I took it in for a test and it meets specs so warranty will not replace it.

It has been like this I put in the gauge 2 years ago. That is why I had it tested. Never changes even after filter replacement.

Is there a standard in writing some where other than everyones opinion.

I would replace mine if it was bad but it tested OK by the dealer.

Who is right?

I was told by my dealer that if it ever drops below 6psi at WOT then it's toast. They replaced mine which was 6psi at idle. I don't know what the 'official rule' is, though.
