Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel pressure 2002

Dear Folks,



I have recently installed a Westech fuel pressure gauage, 0-16 psi. No load the fuel pressure is 15-16 PSI. Under load it drops to about 11-12 psi. My understanding is that under no load the feul pressure should be about 10-12 and under load, WOT, around 5 or less PSI. Is my fuel pressure gauge reading too high or is this about correct?

You should be all .

Dodge/Cummins says minimum at WOT should be greater than 8psi. Anything higher than that is

My '02 runs the same PSI on my Westach as yours, or DID, until I installed an additional Carter 4500 pusher pump as insurance - I suspect that the latest lift pumps are installed on our trucks - and one of the improvements is somewhat higher pressure than earlier units put out - NOW if they will just CONTINUE to do that...
