Santa brought me a fuel pressure and a transmission temp gauge for Christmas. They are Autometer gauges. Being a real novice mechanic I don't know the best places to tap in the sending units. Would appreciate any advice. My truck is a stock 02 Dodge 4x4 quad cab with automatic trans. 54000 miles. Thanks for any input. Ken

well, if you're gonna tap the fuel pressure, I would order the Vulcan big line and transfer pump relocation kit, it has the pressure tap "T" built in and your injection pump will thank you for the extra pressure. as for the transmission temp, no help there, I drive a row boat.

You can tap for the fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the Vp itself. There is a cap over it now. Pull off the cap and use a valve stem puller to take out the needle and screw on your fuel line. As for transmission, the very best way is put the sender in line. Diesel manor sells one I think for $70 or so that replaces the line and gives you a port to install the sender in. If you don't want to spend the money on that you can also remove the plug from the front passenger side servo(round looking thing at the front passenger side of the transmission) and get your reading there. I have mine tapped there and it provides good readings. I'm sure you will get more responses with pictures and such. Good luck! :)
