I am going to try this again. If the fuel pressure is 12 at idle and 8 at WOT throttle prefilter. Why would the pressure be lower at the VP44 3 at WOT and 12 at idle. A new filter has been installed and a new lift pump has been installed. Also the truck starts hard.

Any body out there I am running out of ideas

sounds like you have a restriction between the filter housing and the VP44 take all the fittings and lines out inspect and blow thru them all including the filter housing. Please let me know what you find. Merv

There are a number of factory restrictions built in...

the fuel line from the filter to the injection pump. The banjo bolts (we all know of), but the ID of the steel part of the fuel line is only 3/16".

Steve you are not hearing me,those factory restrictions can be a point where little bits of slim and debri can accumulate. I dont know if youve inspected and blown thru them. Please let me know if you have. You also need to check to see if your lift pump system is pulling air,a common cause of a hard start Merv
