I've looked through the search engine but haven't really found an answer to this question. does the electric sending unit need to be grounded? It's an autometer setup. I would think that it would need to be. I was going to come out of the filter housing with a new banjo bolt post filter and isolate sending unit with grease gun hose but didn't know for sure where I was going to mount sending unit and how. appreciate info on this.
 
AutoMeter sending unit? No, it's not supposed to be grounded. That part is taken care of at the control module/interface box that is part of the kit.

Some guys are mounting them to the plastic flange at the top left of the radiator, great location. Mine is tie-wrapped to the battery hold down bolt for now.
 
AutoMeter does not say anything about grounding the sender. I made a custom L bracket,and mounted it to the fire wall.
