I replaced the stock fuel pump that I had back by the tank. Used to get 14psi out of . So I replaced it with carter P4601HP. Now I only have 12psi. I have all new lines all the way to the injecter. So is this pressure low for this pump. It runs 10. 5psi down HWY and 6psi at wot. Well any help would be great. Thanks

Got..... Why did you replace the stock fuel pump???? The carter P4601hp is rated at 15 psi and 100 gph with 3/8" inlet and 1/2" outlet. The pump is probably within its operating range, assuming you have 1/2" fuel line from the pump to filter to injection pump. Your basically back to stock lift pump capabilities. Your better option would have been to leave the stock lift pump in, and installed a carter P4600hp rated at 7psi and 100 gph as the pusher pump. You would then see, 20-21 psi at idle, 18psi at cruise, and 15psi wot. This would give you plenty for future injector upgrades etc. and provide you with enough psi to get home in the event the stock lift pump should fail.

FWIW: my carter 4601, mounted by the tank, with 1/2 lines to filter and then 3/8 lines to the pump registers 13-14 psi at idle.

Have you changed your fuel filter lately?

I have been running a stock pump back by the tank and getting 15 psi at idle and 12 at cruise. . 8 at WOT. I have a 4601 sitting on the bench to try because if it performs as well as the stock pump I will use them, they are only $80 instead of $160 for stock pump.

HerberRam The reason I put the P4601 is because the stock one toke a dump. I didn't have money to do it the way I won't to. The P4601 has 3/8 inlet and 3/8 outlet and I have 3/8 line all the way to fuelinjecter pump.
