What is a practical fuel pressure guage set-up for a common rail?? Not "bombed" and will not be. Heavy towing occasionally.

I want to monitor the low pressure only. Any need to monitor

rail pressure with my usage??

Thanks

I like mechanical gauges. Any of the aftermarket gauges will do. I have Di Pricol Optix in the 06. I used a tapped banjo bolt on the CP3 inlet before I had the secondary fuel filter on. You can also use a tapped banjo on the bottom of the fuel filter cannister also. I think most of the new fp gauges use an isolator so you don't have to run a diesel line into the cab. The optix comes with a complete kit from Geno's. I don't think you need a rail pressure gauge, but it is nice to have. You'll be able to isolate a CP3 issue quickly and easy with a gauge but it is a pricey item.

I had a shop put in an idiot light for me. $90 installed. flashes at start up so you know it's working and will come on when pressure drops under 5psi. seems to work well.
