You missed my point. With the pump being higher than the tank it creates a siphon wether running or not. Once it is not running thats when it could suck air back in.

Okay, I guess I am missing your point (still!). If that's the case, then when would you expect to see a leak? I would think that vacuum/sucking air would take place when the system was pressurized/truck running and that the vacuum would be lost when the truck was not running (leading to leaks); if what you're saying is accurate, then would fuel be leaking when the truck was running? I'm not seeing any leaks at any time, are you saying you could have an imperfect connection that would suck air but not leak fuel? This was my original question, by the way.

I'd say yes.........

It seems odd but I have seen stranger. It all depends on a lot of things. But I would have to say pressurized would leak fuel. If it doesn't maybe the pressure is sealing the slight leak. When the engine is off the vaccuum starts and sucks the fuel and air back down.



Can't say anything for sure but I would seal all the connections and go from there.
