Installed my FP gauge this weekend and Sunday was fine, drive to work was fine, went to lunch and noticed some fuel leakage. I left the motor running and moved the house and about a cup of fuel sprayed out of the fitting on the VP. So I tightened it up and it seems to have stopped but each the hose is moved the fitting looks like it is loosening up? What do I do?

I did the tighten until snug then another 1/2 to 3/4 turn and I thought it was fine. What I am doing wrong? Also readings are - Idle 14 after it warms up? 13 first start up. 10-11 Cruise and WOT about 8-9. How do those numbers look? I have an EDGE EZ that is going on next week.

There shouldnt be any fuel comming from the schrader valve if the genos hose is unhooked there is a PIN(like a tire valve stem has in it ) inside the schrader valve the whole reason for using the genos line is so you dont have to remove the pin . . if there is still fuel comming from the schrader valve with the hose removed the pin must be stuck in .

With no pusher and just having a stock LP those FP numbers are awesome !

I know if you over tighten the genos hose you will need another one Im not sure what year your truck is but if you have a tapped fuel filter Lid I would just connect there and That would leave your Scrader valve open for future testing when needed.

I got the genos hose also All I did was Put a bit of Permetex 2 on the schrader and put the genos hose on and Its been fine for along time ... . I tightened the same way you did ... Get some Permatex 2 and put it back on if it still leaks just remoive the PIn and use A section of Grease Gun Hose

Good Luck

I have a grease gun whip bc I thought about building my own "geno's" hose, I will check it after the drive home today but it was very odd bc all Sunday it was fine.

Many use the GG hose you just have to remove the pin in the schrader ... . I think a normal Tire Valve stem remover tool will fit it.

I know of people who have went through 3 of the genos hoses before they could get one tighten just right for it to work like intended.

There is a white washer in the end that goes into the Schrader valve. I've read in other threads that over tightening can cause a problem. You might want to check there. I put mine on just a few turns past hand tight and haven't had any problems.

Good Luck,

Brian

I checked it after I got home last night and this morning after driving in and no leaks I tighten it up pretty good this last time, maybe it was just not tight the first time but was on enough to not show a leak right away. Next time I am going to do something different.

I over-tightened my Geno's hose and the teflon seal or whatever closed off and didn't let the gauge read correct.
