This is the first time I've posted a question - hope I don't mess it up too bad!

I own a 2002 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 6-speed with 66,000 miles on it. It's still bone stock. I bought a Pricol electric fuel pressure gauge that I need to install. The instructions tell me to drill a 7/8" hole in the firewall to run the harness but where is the best place on the firewall to drill? I have all the necessary fittings, so the plumbing part shouldn't be a problem. Also, where is the best place to get power for the gauge and backlight, etc. ? I haven't made any upgrades to this truck but I just need to know what the lift pump is doing (or not doing!).

Thanks to all. I appreciate your help.

You can come through one of the grommets if you don't want to drill a hole. Usually a small slice in one of 'em is all that's required.

For gauge lighting, find the fuse in the panel that controls the gauge lights. Once you find it, pull that fuse, turn on the lights and figure out which side is hot. TAP THE OTHER SIDE. This will fuse protect your pillar gauges.

For power, and key switched power source that stays hot on crank will work. Follow the same fuse protection above.

Oh, it's DiPricol.

And I'm sure this will lead you to the next phase of upgrades. Lots of reading to do on the forums for all the other stuff!!

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate the help. I located a couple of grommets today; as soon as I get enough time I'll tackle it. Thanks again.
