I'm taking delivery on a new 2500 with the 325/610 engine. While monitoring transfer pump pressure is not critical on an HPCR Cummins, I want to install a fuel pressure gauge anyway. Where is the best place to tap into the fuel system?

BTW, please ignore my signature . . . I need to update it for the new truck.

I think a clean way would be to replace the standard banjo bolt on the bottom of the fuel filter housing with one that has a standard pipe thread outlet on the end, from there screw in an electrical transducer for the gauge such as a SPA.

I ran mine straight off the CP3 pump; the SRT/10 mount is nice, too. Here's a couple of pics for you.

what kind of fuel pressure are you seeing at idle, cruise and WOT?
  • idle= 9. 0 psi
  • cruise= 7. 0 to 8. 0 psi
  • WOT in the 5 psi range
Thats with the box turned off or on a lower setting. Turning up the power will draw it lower.

Those are pressures with a clean filter, scotty banjo delete and 1/2" filter to CP3 line. At this time I am still on my factory filter mounted lift pump.
