Hello,

I'm about to install an Autometer 0-15psi gauge and oversized banjo bolts and can I get by using 1/4" rubber line and some quality barbs and clamps from the pump to the isolator or is it necessary to use the braided high pressure line?? I see the line from the lift pump to the filter is rubber and the pressure should be at 15psi or under and it won't be rubbing anything so does that mean I can use this type of line? I only need about 19" of line and all I can find for the braided stuff is a 36" line for $45. Also, the line that comes from the filter to the VP44 has what looks like a bleeder on the banjo bolt is it OK to change this?? Will I ever need this bleeder?? If someone could please steer me in the right direction I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks, Kampinkid

I'm useing the 18" rubber hose from Geno's that screws right on to the Schrader valve. The rubber hose is plenty strong enough & it gives you the added benifit of absorbing some of the pressure spikes.

That is your schrader valve- IIf you ever have to go to the dealer for a test on the lift pump or injection pump- you will need it- I am running the Geno's hose too. Works great and they have Great Customer Service!

If you are using all of the bigger banjo bolts that come in the kit, the schrader valve goes in the trash, Geno's Banjo's have a 1/8" pipe thread in the one that goes in the 44, I hooked my gauge up with -4 push-lok fittings and hose, any hydraulic place should have what you need fairly cheap. Stay away from hose clamps and barbed fittings, just something else to fall off! :D

Thanks for all the info............

I just wanted to say thanks and that I have decided to go with the rubber fuel line(I even found most of the stuff in the garage) and ditch the Schrader valve , suppose I can always put it back in if I have to. I also have to say that I've found TDR to be just amazing! I can't believe all the information. And you guys are just great! In the 3yrs I've had the truck I feel ain't learned nothin' till I joined this group.

Thanks again, Kid
