this is a common problem with mechanical FP gauges. I've found that adding tee's inline with the gauge reduces the noise, plus wrapping in electrical tape every inch has helped absorb some vibration and noise.
Are you saying that it's noisy or does the needle move eratically? I had this problem with a DiPricol manual FPG and tried the needle valve fix It didn't even shut off the fuel to the ga. when screwed down. So, I got another ga. and when I removed the old one, something inside was rattling. The new ga. fixed the problem. I do not have an isolator, try unhooking your ga. and see if there is an infernal, I mean internal problem with the ga.
