Is there a place where I can buy a cheap gauge to test my fuel pressure at idle, I thought I remember someone saying you could pick one up at autozone. If so where do I have to hook it up to check the pressure.
Sears used to have them also. Don't remember how cheap. The package says it's not for diesel but they're referring to the high pressure side of the VP44. Works fine for the lift pump. On my 2000, you can check before or after the fuel filter. Both places have a small black cap you unscrew first; pre filter is by the lift pump; post filter just follow the fuel line from bottom of fuel filter to the VP44.
You can get one from 4 Wheel Parts. They have one from Banks. It is called a fuel pressure test gauge kit. It is $36. 99. Click on Banks and 98 -02 trucks.
