Where is the correct mounting location for the fuel pressure sending unit for both the 2002 and 1997 trucks? If it matters, they are autometer gauges.

Also, what is recomended operating pressure for both of those trucks? At what pressure do you know a problem is occuring?

Thanks,

Robert

I tied into the schrader test port of the vp44 to get my pressure (01. 5) which should be the same as the 02 truck. Pressure should be about 14. 5 at idle and drops as low as 8 when driving.

I dont know about the 97, I thought the pressures are alot higher on 12v trucks.

My 99 idles at 14 and 12 or 13 cruising. If i stand on it i can drop it down to 5 or 6. Randy. Also i mountedthe sender on top of the fuel filter housing.

Is the shreader on top of the VP44 a special size? Is it OK to use any shrader that fits or is there a specific type? Thanks

Joe G.

Perfect. Thank you.
