tmacc & Snow King ~ Thanks gentlemen I got the screw snap on cover thing from a big Ace hardware. Only thing I am lacking is paint will pick up tomorrow; fittings and fuel line from Smokin Diesel. You guys use anything to clean and prep apillar before painting like alcohol to clean it of release agent they use when molding the apillar? Went in garage tonight and tried blue and green bulb covers an it looks like green is the best match to OEM. First chance I have a whole weekend will work on getting it done can hardly wait. The flexible tubing sounds like a winner of an idea and maybe wire loom to will work okay.

Thanks again!!! :D

I did'nt bleed mine, it works fine, if you want to though, its easy, just loosen the fitting on the back of the gauge and hold a cup under it, then bump the starter and wait for fuel to drip out, then tighten it up, if it drips, you know fuel is at the gauge, problem solved.

I was wondering if you had the Autometer electric fuel pressure guage(2661) will you still have a fuel line going to the guage. I have ordered mine but will not be til next week I hope. I was under the impression that it was totally electric and used a sensor off of the fuel pump.

Mount sender somewhere in the engine compartment have lots of choices. I am not going to mount or screw in the sendor to fuel pump or mount on engine. Everyone says the way the engines jumps around and vibrates it distroys the sendor or makes it not operate properly. Then it is electrically connected to guage routing wires through firewall.

I will mount mine someplace around brake ABS manifold and connect it to injector pump with rubber fuel line. Actually getting 4AN Aeroquip braided stainless steel fuel line and fittings from Smokin Diesel. I have heard both sides that connect directly to fuel pump scharder causes gauge buzz when some say no problem but will try it and if it does act weird will move to output of fuel filter.

Hope this helps.

Well I finally this weekend got around to installing the gauges. Everything went pretty much as planned. I have a few more things to finish up but all done.

Fuel pressure at idle 15 WOT never gets below about 7 so that appears to mean my fuel pump okay!!!! Made connection at the scharder at the Injection pump and seems to work fine there. Temps seem good though response is a little slow. Stays below 600 pretty much when unloaded at almost any speed until of course I punch it or pulling any slight hill. Boost max is almost 20 which is good i am completely stock.

Only one hitch I have a Gino's Turbo Lifesaver and I mounted the button under the steering column. I guess I did not leave enough slack because when I lowered the column I heard a grunch now the the button no longer works. I need to replace it. Anyone know the spec's on the button? I am guessing it is a cheap springloaded momentary on button anyone know? Know where I can get a repalcement? It has to be small I know that to fit.

Advanced Diesel Technology that made up my fuel line. I got to let you know about. Apparently one adapter -4AN to 1/8 NPT did not get packed. I send an email to them. They immedately no questions asked sent out one overnight air as I wanted to do the guage install this weekend. They followed up next day to see if I got it like I should and to let me know if I did not they would ship another one again. Excellent customer service I would recommend them for anything they have and we need.

Sorry for long post but thought you would want to know!!!!:D

After my guage went weird emailed Autometer. After some problems talked to them by phone and resolved issues. They sent me a new sender free of charge. Now my guage instead of reading over scale around 16 PSI is is now reading 15. 8 at idle. They also sent me a snubber. I have not installed it as one end is 1/8 NPT and the other -4AN so will need an adapter. Have not made up my mind mind about how or if I am going to install it. Though I have ordered the new banjo taped one from Geno's. Seems to be always something.
