Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel pressure check ports

I have already searched for pics of the remote I/P's under the hood. I know I need a grease hose or stainless steel hose to reduce the vibrations on the pressure transducer.

Does anyone have pics of a bracket that they made or bought to mount the transducer's? I am installing pre and post transducers.

Steve St. Laurent had them at one time or at least I think it was him, but his site is not up to date or I am going to the wrong site.

Steve not slamming you, I know you are busy working on TDR and such.

Thanks!!

BarryG41:

There are some innovative mount ideas out there but I have to admit I went very low tech. My gauge is electrical so all I have to mount is the sender unit. I used a tapped banjo on the bottom of my fuel filter cannister for post filter using 3ft braided fuel pressure line kit from Summit Racing and zip tied it securely by the master cylinder.

BarryG41,

I installed just one sending unit on the input to the VP44. I had the local "hose" store (EVCO in this part of the country) make me a 24" line with 1/8 NPT male on one end and AN4 female right angle on the other end. The AN4 mates to the stock banjo bolt FP test point but you need to first remove the Schrader valve from inside the bolt first. The hose cost $8. 00 and is 1/4, 3000 psi fuel line. To mount the sensor I got a piece of scrap aluminum from a local machine shop and mounted it on top of the intake plenum using the bolt that holds the oil dip stick. I can send you some pics, if you want. They are too large to post. The line from the VP44 goes thru a T and to the sensor. The 3rd port of the T has a check valve on it. The other end of the check valve provides a test/bleed port. When I want to check the accuracy of my electric gauge, I just remove the plug and screw in a mechanical gauge all with out getting any air into the fuel system :D .

Thanks for the replies guy's! Sorry it took so long to get back, its been a busy week and weekend. I appreciate all the pics. I have a pretty good idea on where and how to mount the sending units. The one thing that I didn't think about is a bleeder valve to help with a filter change.

Thanks again!

Hey guys... . I got the fuel pressure gauge and senders on my truck. I had some stainless steel hoses made here in Baton Rouge. I found a 1" square stock of aluminum for the manifold. Drilled and tapped for 1/8 senders and hoses. I found the bracket at Home Depot but it is a little on the light side for a bracket. I will just have to keep searching till I find what I need. Or make it myself.

I bought the cubby hole plate from Geno's and drilled a hole for the switch (it came from Radio Shack).

I did put the gauge on slow reading so it wouldn't jump around so much and I like it just the way it is.

Everything fits good and I am very pleased with the job.

I am going to add some pics, if I can figure it out.

Barry
