How would you know for sure that your lift pump is working if you don't have a fuel pressure gauge. As far as I know it's ok, and what would be a good gauge set up for a 03. I like the steering console mount an was looking for the spa gauges in the last Geno's catalog, but did'nt see them in there, maybe I overlooked them.

I put in a dipricol, and an isolator to keep fuel out of the cab of the truck. Mounted the isolator on the firewall lip, not on the engine, to avoid vibration. I see 7. 5psi idling, stock, and as low as 5psi at full throttle. I need to get a pump to boost the pressure to 15 or more.

Same here. I installed the tap at the pump so this is a post-filter pressure reading.

Thanks guys for the info, but I guess what I'm trying to compare this to is my gassers. My gasser truck I had, an the wife's Jimmy you can hear the pump, you know making a buzzing noise. Is there a similar set up for the diesel's. I read other post where people have stated that they did'nt know there lift pump was even bad. That's why I ask if you need a fuel pressure gauge to know for sure, or is there some other test to perform to check the lift pump with out a gauge.

Ok update here, you can hear the lift pump running or with the truck not running for me that is. Simply turn the key on an listen (don't crank it up), it will buzz for about 20 seconds or so then quit. Now in orginal post I though it would keep buzzing all the time like a gasser fuel pump. I should of took note here, especially like when changing out the fuel filter, instructions on purging the air out an refilling the fuel filter canister. I do believe I will be looking into a pressure gauge in the not so long future. I just never paid any attention to it before.

I believe it runs continuously when the engine is running but only for 20-30 seconds if you tap the key and don't start the engine. You just can't hear it over the engine noises. Buzzing is one test but only indicates that it is running, not necessarily that there's good fuel pressure.

On the 2nd Gen's, hearing the pump run does not confirm that you have FP. It only means that the pump shaft is turning... ;)

I don't have photos but, as said above, I replaced the fuel inlet banjo bolt on the injector pump with a threaded one from Geno's (with gaskets). One fitting there to connect to a 2' (or so) long, 1/4" fuel line. The new fuel line runs back toward the firewall, kind of following the other fuel lines, then, with a little slack, up to the isolator I mounted horizontally on a lip on the firewall just under the hood. Using the fittings I was able to get it took two to connect the line to the isolator. It'll seem obvious when you get started.

Does anybody know if this kit from Geno's will work with the Stewart Warner Maximum Performance fuel gauge? I went with this one to match my other gauges. I think I remember seeing on Geno's site that it only worked with a particular brand.
