Does anybody else notice a 1 psi drop in fuel pressure when the grid heaters cycle? When these things light, they must pull a hell of a lot of juice.

The other day I didn't think mine were working correctly because it was cold but they didn't cycle. I think the temp sensor just didn't register cold enough for them to come on even though air temp was in the 40's. Since it has gotten colder here at night they seem to be working fine. Anyway while looking in the manual for some info on them it said they pull 90 amps each and with two of them thats 180 amps.

If you are using an non-mechanical gauge, a lower gauge reading while the heaters are lit could be a combination of less voltage at the gauge sender and the transfer pump.

Completely normal

I have both a mechanical FP gauge(pre-filter) and a SPA FP gauge(post filter) with electric sender. Both show pulled down psi's when the grid heaters are running. They draw mega amps. and are taking away power from the transfer pump when they are activated. The same result is why your headlamps dim when the grid heaters kick on.
