I have a Prime-Loc fuel filter replacement on my truck. I want to put a fuel pressure guage on the system so I can check the pressures. Prime-Loc has two ports to tap into. I'm guessing one is for pre-filter pressure and one is for post-filter pressure. I want to have a guage on both ports. I am looking for some generic guages. What kind of guages can I use and do I need an isolator? I have heard of using a needle valve but I can't find one with a standard NPT fitting.

jgrissom,

I also have the Prime-Loc on my 1997 and would like to do add a gauge. Until last week, I had the Prime-Loc brand fuel pressure gauge on the unit. The gauge does not have any numbers - just red and green areas. However, the thing vibrated so badly you could not even read it. After fixing a leak in the gauge plumbing for the second time, I pulled it off and plugged the ports.

I am trying to decide if I want to go with underhood gauges or run something into the cab. Y-knot has an underhood setup and pm'd me these part numbers for his gauges.

"The Jegs part numbers are 555-41020 for a liquid-filled stainless steel encased gauge. They run 19. 99 each. Since the ports are close together, you will need a nipple on one of the gauges to extend it out in front of the other one. Jegs.com or 1-800-345-4545"

Y-knot also posted about this in this post. The post has a pic of his setup. He might chime in here.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to order the guages now. When I bought the prime-loc system in 1998, I think you could get some regular pressure guages from them. But when I looked here recently, they had the guage like you have now. They are only good for filter replacement and not for diagnostics.
