Fuel pressure guage

A dum-dum question; am I right in understanding this guage will tell me when the first pump in the system is failing and keep me from ruining the big bucks one ?

Yes, a fuel pressure gauge can save your CP-3 if your LP fails. It is possible to damage the CP-3 if it's not being fed the proper volume of fuel over a long period of time.
